GOVERNMENT SCHOOL PROGRAM CMCA in Govt. Schools | Highlights & Achievements| Events| Campaigns CMCA in Government Schools CMCA works on the premise that an understanding by society of democracy and their Rights, directly impacts their ability to secure them. CMCA strives to empower children with this knowledge. They understand that they have Rights – to Education, to Safe Drinking Water, to Health and so on. This knowledge is then translated to changes in their lives in small but significant ways. Children standing up for their Rights is the first step towards enabling them to secure them. For example, in our Bal Panchayats the understanding that “I have a Right to Sanitation” drives children to engage with authorities and secure this right. A school in the CMCA Program secured access to usable toilets through this concept of ‘empowerment and attaining visible change” Through the School Profile Project children understand the school campus – facilities provided in school, access to water and toilets, number of lights and fans in classrooms, number of benches and chairs etc. Children then identify problems that they can solve by engaging with authorities. | >> Click on the image for an enlarged view |
