CMCA Bangalore started in the year 2000 as a joint initiative of Public Affairs Centre and Swabhimana. Today, CMCA Bangalore has grown with 50 Private School Civic Clubs and 27 Government School Civic Clubs, active in various educational institutions who are regularly engaged in civic and environmental activities.

CMCA Bangalore serves as a 'laboratory' for CMCA India. Various ideas and innovations are first tried in Bangalore before they are implemented in other member cities. Our Impact Assessment pilot studies are one such example.

CMCA Bangalore, in the future , seeks to further expand its program to other schools and will continue to explore different models and innovations to our existing program serving as the 'innovation centre' for CMCA India.
